KUET Admission Test 2025: Over 24,000 Students Compete for Limited Seats

The highly anticipated admission test for the 2024-25 academic year at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) began today, January 11, with thousands of students vying for a coveted spot at one of the country’s premier engineering institutions.

The test started at 9:30 AM and will continue until 12:30 PM, with an additional freehand drawing test scheduled from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM. The exam is being conducted across 447 rooms at 11 centers, including KUET and several other educational institutions in Khulna.

This year, 24,527 candidates are competing for just 1,065 seats across 16 departments under three faculties. On average, 23 students are battling for each seat, highlighting the fierce competition for admission.

Given the limited capacity at KUET’s campus, the test is being held at external venues, including Khulna University and 10 other educational institutions in the city.

A significant number of applicants are taking the exam at the following centers:

  • KUET Center: 7,144 candidates
  • Khulna University Center: 4,940 candidates
  • Bangladesh Navy School and College: 2,500 candidates
  • Khalishpur Government Haji Mohammad Mohsin College: 2,500 candidates
  • Khulna Government Women’s College: 2,000 candidates
  • Khulna Government Model School and College: 1,300 candidates

Other centers include Reverend Paul’s High School, Hope Polytechnic Institute, Pioneering Women’s College, MM City College, and Sundarban Government Ideal College, hosting hundreds of aspirants.

The seat plan for the admission test was published earlier on January 9, providing students with ample time to prepare. This year marks a significant shift as KUET opted to conduct the test under its own management, moving away from the engineering cluster system used in previous years.
