Jesy Nelson, who rose to fame with the group Little Mix has announced signing new solo record deal with label Polydor. This is Jesy’s first solo deal with a record label after leaving the music group Little Mix.
The singer announced the news via her Instagram on Friday morning with a picture where she can be seen posing before the logo of the company. Nelson wrote, “So excited to announce that I’ve signed my first ever solo record deal with @polydorrecords @universalmusicgroup. This is such a pinch me moment. I cannot wait for you guys to hear what I’ve been working on.”
There is no further information about her upcoming projects or their arrival. However, the recent Instagram posts shared by Jesy show her with a production team-Loosechange in a studio. She captioned the image “Cooking up the sauce”. Clearly, Jesy is currently working on her new music, but it’s not known when she’ll be done and when the fans will get to hear it.
Jesy was once a part of one of the best music groups and the top women group Little Mix, where she worked with Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. She left the group the in December 2020 citing mental health struggles, and the group continued as a trio. Jesy explained that online abuse left her at “breaking point”, and that she needed to look after her mental health.
At the time of her departure from the group, Jesy had told, “I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard.” She mentioned being compared to her bandmates had affected her self-confidence. She also said, “I was bigger than the other three, and there’s never really been that in a girl group. I was classed as the obese, fat one. I can’t believe how miserable I was.”
Above all, the other group members supported Jesy’s decision and said that it was important for Nelson to do “what is right for her mental health and well being.”
Finally, Jesy is back to making music again and with the new record deal, the fans will soon get to listen to her new music.
