Recently, Britney and her fight against her conservatorship became the topic the news as the singer appeared in court for the same and her condition shocked everybody. Since then, many celebrities and Britney’s fans have been speaking in Britney’s support.
This time, Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline broke his silence on her case and situation. Through his lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplin, Kevin Federline spoke about what he thinks and how he feels about Britney’s request to be freed from the legal arrangement.
Kaplin, on behalf of Federline told Entertainment Tonight, “What is best for her, Kevin supports her in being able to do that. It doesn’t matter how positive of an effect a conservatorship has had if it’s having a deleterious effect and detrimental effect on her state of mind. So he supports her having the best environment for her to live in and for his children to visit with their mother in.”
Kevin added, “Kevin feels that the best thing for his children is for their mother to be happy and healthy.”
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline dated each other in 2004, and got married the same year, after they got engaged in July 2004. In the next two years, the couple had two sons- Sean and Jayden, who were born in 2005 and 2006 respectively. However, after two years, the “Toxic” singer Britney Spears filed for divorce from Federline in and cited some irreconcilable differences as the reason.
The divorce later led to a custody battle. In July 2007, Britney and Kevin’s divorce got finalized and Federline won the custody battle for both the kids. He was given 70 percent custody, while Britney has 30 percent custody rights.
Today, Kevin has primary custody of both the boys and he maintains good relations with Britney’s parents for the sake of their kids.
Britney has been suffering for a while due to this legal arrangement, under which Britney is not allowed to have or do certain things. Once of such things is removal of her IUD, which her conservators don’t allow her to get removed. Hence, Britney asked the court to release her from the conservatorship and free her. She said, “It’s embarrassing and demoralizing what I’ve been through, and that’s the main reason I didn’t say it openly. I didn’t think anybody would believe me.”
According to Britney, she was previously unaware that she could petition to end the arrangement and apologized for her ignorance.
