Microsoft Teams launches service for Friends and Families!

Microsoft Teams today launched the new personal version of the app, where people can meet with their friends and families for personal time. The app has been known to be a professional platform for people to meet formally.

The service is quite identical to the Microsoft Team used for businesses. It will allow people to chat, video call, and share calendars, locations, and files easily to personal contacts. Microsoft is also continuing the free 24-hour video calls offer. It means, the users can meet up with over 300 people without any time constraint, as the calls can last for 24 hours.

However, the point to notice is that the 24 hours service is can only be availed on one on one call. Microsoft will limit for group calls of up to 100 people to 60 minutes after the pandemic

The changes/updates for personal use have now been made to across the web, mobile, and desktop apps. Earlier, the preview was launched initially launched on iOS and Android.

One of the best features offered by the Teams update is its “Together Mode”, where people will be put in virtual environment. Other than that, there is a feature of live emoji reactions and GIFs. Besides, one don’t specifically need to be a Teams user, people can join using native app or the browser.

Microsoft claims Teams to be better than Zoom as the “chats in Teams don’t end after the call is over”. Citing it as the differentiator between Zoom and Teams, Microsoft stated that Zoom is a virtual meeting platform, while Teams is a full collaboration platform, with the combining efforts of Slack and Zoom into one giant product.

Additionally, the Teams user are provided new cha features, where they can add a non-user to a call or group chat with just their phone numbers.

All the new features of the Microsoft Teams have been made available from today, without any additional charges or registration.
