Singer Miley Cyrus, or Hannah Montana, is popularly known to be outspoken, confident and unapologetically herself. However, Cyrus recently opened up about some of dull moments of her life, when she felt “insecure.”

In an interview with People, the Malibu singer talked about what she went through personally while growing up, and about wanting to end the Disney show Hannah Montana. Miley said, “Once I was 18 because it felt ridiculous… The minute I had sex, I was kind of like, I can’t put the f–king wig on again. It got weird. It just felt like … I was grown up.”

Cyrus said that while people liked and hated her confidence at the same time, there were times that the singer was pretending to be confident. As per Miley, there was time when she “felt so insecure” but was “portraying this image of what a lot of people thought was this confident person.”

“My mission has always been to be unapologetically myself, and I ended up feeling like a fraud,” said Cyrus.

But today, Cyrus is living the best life and has shifted her focus on self-love and self-care. Talking about beauty and personal care, Miley said, “”On a beauty level, taking care of myself is a lot of skincare,” she says. “I never sleep in my makeup and no matter how tired I am or how long the day has been, my makeup always comes off before bed. I also love taking the time to go on hikes and be in nature as often as I can — getting away from the craziness of L.A. to breathe for myself is crucial.”

Finally, shifting the topic to her future, Miley shared her plans on spending some quality time with her family and loved ones, and making new music. The singer told, “I just recently became an aunt for the first time to my beautiful nephew named Bear. I am spending a lot of time with him, watching him grow, while I record my next record back home in Tennessee.” Miley shared that Bear is son of Cyrus’ younger brother Braison.
