Original Bobby Van’s building in Bridgehampton trades for $7.5M

The Bridgehampton building housing the original Bobby Van’s traded hands for $7.5 million in an off-market deal.

A high-end Italian restaurant is going into the space at 2402 Montauk Highway, which housed pizza hot spot World Pie after Bobby Van’s closed in 1980.

Douglas Elliman’s Paul Brennan and Martha Gundersen repped the buyer, and the seller, Phil Mannino, who bought the building in 1968.

The building itself dates to 1894.

Bobby Van, the jazz pianist, opened his spot there in 1971 and it became the watering hole of choice for legendary writers like Truman Capote and Kurt Vonnegut.
