Simon Cowell has cancelled his appearance on the show X Factor Israel. He will no longer be a panel member for the fourth season of X Factor Israel. Simon made this decision after the surging religious violence in Israel between Israel and Hamas.
Besides, the rumors of Simon calling off from the show began surfacing last week as the violence in Israel erupted. Although Cowell has not yet commented on the situation, the Israeli company ‘Reshet’ which airs the show announced the news.
The spokesperson for Reshet said, “Cowell was canceling ‘for his own reasons… Members of Cowell’s staff had reached out with ‘legitimate concerns’ over his participation in the show after the recent violence between Israel and Hamas in Gaza,”
According to the reports, a report by Britain’s largest Jewish newspaper “Jewish News” which was published last week, cited a source close to Cowell saying that the media mogul was “bitterly disappointed”. The unnamed source claimed that Simon Cowell could not take part for in the show due to “a number of reasons.”
Simon had signed the deal to appear as a part of panel member for X Factor Israel in December 2020. Back then, Simon himself had announced the new and stated, “I can barely wait to see what the Israelis have to offer.”
Moreover, Simon’s team had helped the X Factor Israel to appoint judges for the new season. The panel currently includies Israeli singer and former Eurovision Song Contest winner Netta Barzilai, alongside Israeli singers Aviv Geffen, Ran Danker, Miri Mesika, and Margalit Tzanani.
This would have been Simon’s first time to judge the show in Israel. Besides, Simon has already been a part of America’s Got Talent, Britain’s Got Talent, and X Factor UK and US. He is currently appearing as a judge on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
An official statement from Simon Cowell and his team is awaited!
