Henry Cavill has shared a brand new poster of Geralt of Rivia ahead of The Witcher‘s second season premiere in December.
After months of waiting, the second season of The Witcher is closer than ever. Sure, there are two more months to go, but Netflix has enough content in the pipeline to keep us satisfied until then. Starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, the series sees his character slaying down monsters and beasts for coin. The second season is set to pick up where the first left off, which sees Geralt under the assumption that Yennifer has passed.
To tease the second season, Henry Cavill took to Instagram to share a brand new photo of himself as The Witcher. The ominous poster reads “Destined to protect” as Geralt stoically stares into the distance.
Netflix debuted two new clips from the second season last month at its Tudum event. It was also announced that the series had been renewed for a third season, cementing The Witcher‘s status as one of Netflix’s most popular offerings.
Based on the fantasy series of novels and short stories by Andrzej Sapkowski, Netflix’s The Witcher follows a monster slayer for hire named Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill. Here’s the official synopsis for the second season of the series:
Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.
Henry Cavill’s The Witcher returns for its second season on December 17th. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the Netflix series and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more content!
