‘Top Gun’ and streaming service contributed to a 19 percent increase in Paramount’s revenue

The release of “Top Gun: Maverick” and the addition of over 5 million new subscribers to its Paramount+ streaming service were the primary contributors to the 19 percent rise in revenue that Paramount Global reported for the second quarter.

On Thursday, the media conglomerate announced that its direct-to-consumer revenue had increased by 56 percent over the previous year, with more than 64 million customers worldwide. This figure takes into account the fact that the company has lost about 4 million subscribers in Russia.
