Fans of the popular Canadian series “Schitt’s Creek” finally have their chance to own their favorite pieces from the show — such as a Rosebud Motel room key and the signature oval-shaped glasses worn by Dan Levy. Well, game pieces, that is.
On Thursday, the Emmy-winning comedy — which tells the story of the Rose family after losing their wealth and being forced to live in a run-down motel in a rural town they bought as a joke — took to Instagram to share the news that a “Schitt’s Creek” version of the popular Monopoly board game is up for grabs.
Available for $39.99, players can try their luck at buying Bob’s Garage, or even the brick-clad Town Hall. Additional images posted on Instagram show even more game pieces, including a wig worn by the show’s matriarch Moira Rose, played by Catherine O’Hara.
Monopoly-loving fans can also play to buy the Rosebud Motel — the property that becomes the home of the down-on-its-luck family. But in real life, they may not be so lucky.
The motel, in real life known as the Hockley Motel, hit the market in March for $1.59 million, according to multiple reports at the time. Located some 50 miles from downtown Toronto in Mono, Ontario, the property sits on nearly 7 acres — but appears to have been taken off the market. A message to Colliers Canada, which represented the listing, wasn’t returned.
“Join the Rose family on opportunistic adventures as you buy, sell, and trade popular locations from the show, including The Rosebud Motel, Bob’s Garage, Herb Ertlinger Winery and more,” according to the official game description. “Celebrate tongue-in-cheek victories with Hello You and Love That Journey for Me cards, while rent and taxes like Roland’s Truck and ‘That’s Not a Write Off!’ make or break your small-town struggle to come out as the richest little townie and win!”
